I tried this scones recipes last night, and spiced it up a bit with some of my own ingredients. It’s super easy, very quick (takes ± 20 min) and oh-so-yummy!
I used selfraising flour, left out the baking powder but did add 1/2 tsp of baking soda. I also added cayenne pepper, mixed herbs, paprika, olives and crushed garlic. I didn’t measure any of it, just stopped when it looked right!
Cake flour 2 cups
Baking powder 2 teaspoons
Milk 1/2 cup
Water 1/2 cup
Oil 2 tablespoons
Pinch of salt
Sugar 1 teaspoon
Beat the eggs. Add the water, milk and oil. Mix well before adding the rest of the ingredients. Beat with a wooden spoon. Dish into a muffin tin and bake for 15 min at 200 degrees Celsius.
Let the scones cool down for a few minutes before removing from the baking tin.
Enjoy with cheese, jam or Marmite/Bovril!
